The capital of an equipment rental fleet is in my opinion, a “hidden treasure” of possibilities. By looking at the fleet from a different perspective, I see something else than just machines. I see a Remarketing opportunity beyond belief. A fleet reorganization, e.g. selling old machines, will bring in more money which you can then use to reinvest in equipment, additional profit or to pay for your other investments.
Besides selling old (intensive care) machinery you no longer use it is also possible to sell machines that have (too) low utilisation (divestment). Machines with little or no utilisation just cost money: they are older and less valuable so they are often written off without any benefits in return. By selling them you avoid obsolescence and generate cash flow at the same time. Cashflow that can be used for renewing your fleet of equipment.
