Successful training day measuring and monitoring compressed air by ANTS

Beesel 20 March 2014 - Technology and consultancy firm ANTS from Beesel, Netherlands organised a one day training course for professionals in the compressed air business in BeNeLux (Belgium, Netherlands, Luxemburg)

The attends were all specialised suppliers from the compressed air and gas industry.
Several products were explained and demonstrated and how this all fits into a selling concept to makes customers compressed air system more reliable, more efficient and to reduce cost.

DSC 0163

Many companies who own compressed air systems waste money by not attending to important efficiency factors. They can reduce cost dramatically by taking care of some critical parts in their system. The following chart shows the TOP 7 of savings that can be achieved in their system.

  • Leak reduction                                16% (!)
  • System design                                 4.5 %
  • Heat recovery                                 4.0 %
  • Frequency regulation                       3.8 %
  • Well-designed control system            2.4 %
  • Upgrade compressor                        2.1 %
  • Pressure reduction                           1.5%

These are huge amounts of money if you consider that compressed air is the most expensive utility a company could have. You can only determine the actual situation by measuring these critical factors in your compressed air system. In 99% these measurements result in cost savings.

Many suppliers and manufacturers focus on selling expensive frequency regulated compressors but not in all cases this is the best solution. Not many suppliers in this industry make work of good measurements.

This training day was to inform the specialists how important the role of good measuring is. The use and applications of the different components was explained such as:

  • Pressure dew point sensors,
  • Leak detectors,
  • Particle counters,
  • Flow meters and usage meters,
  • Residual oil sensors to measure for example oil carry over.

The manufacturer who supported this training also showed how modern techniques of communication can be applied to this sensor technology. Standalone of fully integrated to the customer’s monitoring system.

“Don’t waste time and money, start today with monitoring your system”

SAMOTER goes ahead 2014

Italian trade show Samoter will be going ahead in May, despite rumours that it might not take place because of an Italian market left weak as a result of the global financial crisis.

The show, held in Verona, is on a three-year cycle, and this year is teaming up with the Asphaltica infrastructure and road safety exhibition.

Samoter is scheduled to take place this year from 8 to 11 May. The last time Samoter was held, in 2011, it attracted 98,000 visitors from 110 countries. There were 900 exhibitors at the show, taking 109,000m2 of space.
